For parents

The consent form is not the whole answer.

Why this page exists

You are asked to sign. You should be able to read first.

Most parents meet a school trip as a form in a bag and a date on a letter. This page is the operating detail behind that form, in plain language, written for you rather than for the school.

The questions parents actually ask

Nine answers, and where we are still waiting.

Where a number has not been signed off internally, it is marked rather than guessed. A confident wrong answer is worse than a visible gap.

Who actually travels with my child?

A Destinationz 360 coordinator travels with the group from the first pick-up to the last drop, alongside the school’s own teachers. The coordinator is a named person, not a rota. You get the name before departure.

They are the single point of contact for the school at any hour of the day or night, and they are the one who makes the call if a plan has to change.

How many adults are there for how many children?

The supervision ratio for your child’s year group and the specific activities on the itinerary is written into the proposal the school signs, before the school commits.

It varies by age and by activity, so a single number across the whole company would be a fiction. The published ratio table is awaiting sign-off and will appear here.

How do you know nobody has been left behind?

Headcounts are taken at every transition: onto the vehicle, off the vehicle, before and after every site, before and after every meal, and before anything moves.

They are counted against a written list by a named adult and logged. Not done by eye, and not done by whoever happens to be nearest.

What happens at night?

Room and tent allocation, where the adults sleep relative to the children, lighting to the toilets, an in-room curfew and a count after lights out.

The same on the last night as on the first, including when the evening is going well, which is when it usually slips. The curfew time is awaiting confirmation and will be stated here.

What about my child’s medication, allergy or dietary need?

Medical, dietary and consent declarations are collected from you through the school, reconciled with the caterer and the hotel, and carried by the coordinator in hard copy as well as on a phone.

A phone with no signal is not a medical record, which is why it is carried on paper too.

Are the adventure activities safe?

Certified operators, their own equipment, their own instructors, and waiver documentation completed before the activity. Instructed, never merely supervised.

Where a certified operator cannot be confirmed, the activity is removed from the itinerary and the school is told why.

What if the weather turns, or a permit falls through?

Excursions that depend on weather, permits or road status are marked conditional on the plan the school signs, and the alternative is costed and confirmed at the same time.

A parent should never discover a contingency on the day it is needed.

Who calls me if something goes wrong?

An evacuation route and the nearest medical facility are written into the plan for every night of the trip, along with who makes the call and in what order the school and the parents are informed.

The school leads contact with parents. The coordinator is with your child and on the phone to the school.

Who am I actually dealing with?

Destinationz 360 is a brand of Stuti Tourism Pvt. Ltd., which has been designing travel since 2009 and has served more than 800,000 travellers. Our sister brand is Zubilant.

Our contract is with the school, not with you. Your consent form and your payment go through the school, exactly as they should.

What a programme looks like

Supervised, and still worth going on.

Field work, reserves, working plants and high country. The protocol is what makes the interesting version possible.

A cave and rock formation with a group climbing the approach.
Stone temples and boulder country at Hampi.
A viewing deck above a wooded river valley.
A tiger crossing open ground in Ranthambore, seen from a park vehicle.
Grassland and sal in the Corbett landscape at first light.
A lion in long grass on the Masai Mara.
One honest note

We do not sell to parents.

Our contract is with the school. If you want your child on a trip, or want a trip run differently, the conversation is with the school, and that is the right way round. This page exists so that conversation starts from the same facts we give them.

If you are a teacher or a principal reading this, the full protocol and the enquiry form are below.

For schools

Parents ask good questions. Bring us the hard ones.

If a parent body has asked something the school cannot answer yet, send it to us. A coordinator calls the school back.

Also on WhatsApp.
